our wedding I: confetti

I am in love with confetti shots, always have been.
To me it's the perfect illustration of celebration, joy and the blessing of the community on a couple's marriage.
Besides that it's also colourful, fun and someone's usually pulling a funny face!

Liezl & Iwan

Margarita & Kobus

Angela & Eben
Phrosne & Matthys
And then it was our turn.

Once again, we'd just taken over the street. Cars? What cars? Gotta love small town SA.

After the confetti, we took a little break. Just hanging out in the street, as you do. I was being my usual expressive self and dear MIL Ansie captured it.

Yay, we're married! And now there was only the small matter of a huge party to attend to...

Confetti is cute, but rice in the eye might be scary! My sister had a very safe bubble situation.

I hadn't even thought about confetti before the wedding, but I was never that convinced by it and then my girls bought some along and some of my favourite pics are the confetti ones! I love the board of the pics of the two of you.

I love confetti...I once saw someone used heart shaped confetti - so cute .

I would do rose petals :)

I haven't really thought about the confetti situation either... how did it work if, at the end of the ceremony you left the church first, and then everyone files out behind you? i guess we could hire some actors to wait outside and throw confetti on us as we exit ;) the second photo of the two of you is my favourite.

I really like the confetti look, so cute! We got married at a rose garden so I couldn't have that type of thing so a cute alternative we used was little bells that everyone rang.

Totally! I always dreamed of confetti too! I also once saw someone use dried lavender to throw on the bride & groom. Beautiful and smelled great! :)

Darrah, yeah I don't really get the rice thing. And it kills the birds who eat it! Petals = nice and soft, pretty & biodegradable!

Superficial, I know and it's ironic cause I'd asked for all white petals and was a bit unimpressed... When I first saw the pictures, though, I realised it's all good!

I'm so glad your girls stepped up when you weren't sure, I adore confetti it's so fun. And thanks, I like those pics too!

BB, rose petals are classic and they smell good too!

Julia, ha ha yeah rent-a-crowd should do it. Wouldn't you be signing the register though? That's how all our guests got down the steps before us.

Elizabeth, love the idea of the bells!!

Thanks AmyJean, Jess, Lisa me too!

Ashley, I particularly like the multi coloured streamers!

Globetrotting, I think you should get some and toss it over yourselves on your anniversary!

Onceabride, thank you it's my pleasure!

Nina, my florist had suggested eucalyptus but I don't like the smell... Must tell a funny honeymoon night lavender story, thanks for reminding me!

Thank you lovely, hayley & jj!!!!
