I am so in love with every one of these images.
The modern interpretations though? Not so much.
Maybe if I commit to a year or two of B&W pics only?
C'mon then, help me make up my mind.
Go for the chop, chop, huge *ffing chop or not?
Vote in the poll!
Thanking you, in advance.

Don't do it! I love your long locks... Although if you do make sure to post pictures, in B&W of course :)
Go for it! It's only hair - if you end up hating it rest assured in the fact that it will grow out. But then again I'm a girl who frequently chops off my locks for fun.
Do it! It accentuates your face, brings out your eyes and its such a wonderful feeling to have the weight lifted. Also, what's so wrong with the modern interpretation? For the most part they look so fresh. I especially like Natalie Portman's.
Do it!
Do it. It's so much fun!
And I'm with scientist. Sure they may not all be great, but Natalie Portman is totally rocking the modern interpretation.
Hmmm. It was a huge deal for me even to cut my hair above my shoulders, but I'm totally happy with it! But then I know full well that I could NOT carry off the pixie look.
I can't picture it on you, but yu have great eyes and cheekbones so you might be ok? Although I do love your hair! If you're leaning to it I say go for it! But please don't look like Mia Farrow. I can't stand her :-) Try for Audrey Hepburn.
I agree with your take on the pics - only th upper-left modern one (who is that?) stands up.
I had super-short hair for about 10 years, now it's long again. I like it both ways. Besides, you can always get extensions if you hate it ;)
Marie, actually, ahem, the locks on my wedding pics were extentions! And I've already gone bob, so there isn't too much left anyway he he.
Brunhilda, you're right, only hair!
Scientist, I just wonder if my current post-wedding happy weight chubby cheek face is the one to accentuate! I do like how Natalie looks as well! The modern gals just don't look AS striking as the classic ones do.
Miss button, agreed. They all look nice enough, but not fierce you know? But Natalie does. She is exquisitely beautiful though!
Ruby, I'm not the greatest Mia fan at all, but she did rock that hairstyle. Credit where credit's due!
I'll probably take the Natalie P pics to the hairdresser. We're both brunette and it's now, not 40 odd years ago. Although, she grew into the short cut from going skinhead for V for Vendetta... mmm, NO!
Un-bride, it's a model in a Clarins ad. That is the very picture that started it all, she looks fab right? I think I should just once have young woman short hair, before it's you know, mom short hair!
I'm definitely leaning towards the chop!
Do it! You can definitely pull it off, you'll look amazing. And it will grow back anyway!
Do it! I did a similar chop from LONG hair 10 years ago (can't believe its that long, jeez I'm getting old!), it was great to just have something total different!
I've done the chop a few times, really love having it short.
Already keen to trim my bob and fringe, and strangely enough have also been pondering going the whole hog... but decided to stick to bob for a bit instead.
So I say DO IT chick!! Long hair is boring. :-)
In my opinion, the attractiveness of each woman in the photos is significantly reduced by the short hair cut.

Take a shortcut!
Go short, why not. hair grows. And it'll be a wonderfully thrilling thing to do even if it looks so-so. I personally think it'll look fab, so go for gold!
I just stumbled upon you blog and love it! I think if short hair makes you happy you go for it! I'm adding you to my google reader, can't wait to read what you decided to do!
Do it! I've been thinking about doing it too, but I'm too lazy to style short hair every day or go to the hairdresser more than once a year.
chop it, mia farrow yourself up, it's divine!
You'd be drop dead gorgeous with the chop. I say GO FOR IT!
You are beautiful, you would look amazing with a pixie cut. I love(d) mine. (Plural because I am too lazy to maintain it so it is rapidly growing out. Too bad.)
Do it!
